GOWDY FAMILY

Vernon L. Gowdy, Sr.

Vernon Leroy Gowdy, Sr. was born January 21, 1901 in Blue Mountain, Mississippi and married Virgie May Frazier (born December 1, 1903 in Oregon County, Thayre, Missouri around 1920). Virgie May Frazier's parents were Jesse N. Frazier (born 1875 in Missouri) and Paralee (Ballard) Frazier born1883 in Arkansas). Vernon L. Gowdy, Sr. and Virgie May Gowdy had eight children: Vernon L. Gowdy, Jr.,  Lavan Owen Gowdy, Charley Gowdy, Virgie Louise Gowdy, Lena May Gowdy, Marjorie June Gowdy, Grace Helen Gowdy and Karen Fay Gowdy.
