Mrs. Viola Callicutt Goudy, of Blue Mountain, age 92, died in the Tippah County
Hospital early Monday morning, Feb 26, after an illness of about a month. The funeral
service was held in the Nance Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, with Rev.
Bill Peacock, pastor of Lowrey Memorial Baptist Church of Blue Mountain in charge.
Burial was in the Blue Mountain cemetery.
Mrs. Goudy was a lifelong citizen of this county, a daughter of the late Bird Callicutt and Mrs. Jennie Smith Callicutt. She was married to the late Joe Goudy. She engaged in school teaching for many years, and was well known throughout this area. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are: a son, H. D. Goudy of Blue Mountain; a sister, Mrs. Oscar Reaves, of Blue Mountain; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The following served as pallbearers; Guy Carter, Jr., Leslie McClure, Homer Hill, Arlan Mask, Ruffin Mitchell, and Terry Wayne Malone.
