MRS. PEYTIE GOWDY
Mrs. Peytie Hagy Gowdy of Everton, Ark., who formerly lived in Memphis with a son, E. L. Hagy, now of Rosemark, died Saturday at Baptist Hospital. She was 81.
Mrs. Gowdy had lived in Everton the past three years but formerly, for many years, lived at Pittsburg landing, Tenn., near Shiloh Park. She was the widow of Arch Gowdy, contractor, who died eight years ago.
She also leaves four other sons, Sam C. Hagy of Dallas, Frank M. Hagy of Everton, E. E. Hagy of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and James Gowdy, of Charlotte, N. C. and a daughter, Mrs. M. M. Plyant of Winnaboro, Texas.
Services were at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at National Funeral Home, Burial in Ledbetter Cemetery at Adamsville, Tenn.
The above article, which appeared in the Press-Scimitar several days ago, will be of interest to many of our readers, as Mrs. Gowdy formerly resided in Blue Mountain for many years.
